One 15 hour flight from Washington Dulles Airport to Tokyo Narita Airport, a 2 hour layover and a 2.5 hour flight from Tokyo to Seoul Incheon Airport and we have arrived to our home for the next 3 years! We also want to wish my husband Scott a HAPPY BIRTHDAY as he got to spend it on a plane traversing the world!!
After a 1.5 hour drive from the airport, we finally arrived to the Dragon Hill Lodge around 22:30 (I’m going to start using military time – when in Rome right?). This is going to be our temporary home for the next 30-60 days.
So we checked in and took a look at our room. It’s not too bad, much more spacious than we had expected, but still a very small space for the two of us. I almost feel like we’re in a college dorm room. Starting on the search for a permanent home is definitely going to be on the top of our list of things to do!
I know it’s late, but let’s just say that the United meal service wasn’t thrilling and I was getting a little peckish. As we started heading downstairs, Scott and I realized that we can’t leave base as I don’t have a base ID AND the only thing open at this hour is the little PX convenience store…. So we went to check it out and it looks like we’re having instant ramen and Pepperoni Hot Pockets as our first meal in Seoul (don’t be jealous).
My hopes for a fabulous Korean BBQ meal will have to wait until tomorrow.
While I was in the store I also found this awesome sign. I’ve circled my two favorite regulations/photos for your enjoyment!
We’ll keep you posted on how our day goes tomorrow 🙂
