Welcome to Jeju

We are visiting Jeju this weekend for the long weekend. We were able to get decent airfare on Eastarjet (about 250,000 won for both of us) and a great rate at the Lotte Jeju Hotel!

The flight to Jeju was super quick and easy from Gimpo airport. It only took about 50 minutes.  You should note that the Lotte Jeju Hotel is located in the Jungmun Resort Complex which is about 45 minutes from the Jeju airport.

Lotte Jeju Hotel

The hotel is only 9 floors, but the grounds are quite extensive. We booked a mountain view room, but were lucky and got upgraded to a pool/ocean view. Although the room doesn’t have the most luxurious interior decorating; it is quite spacious and we enjoyed the bonus of having a balcony.

Our check in to the hotel was fairly late at night; however, I actually recommend seeing the property at night all lit up! It’s really impressive.  You can see the difference between seeing it during the day and seeing it at night.

Even though the hotel was a little more pricier than some of the pensions, we were very happy we chose it. There is lots to do fairly close by. The resort itself is nice and they have some good amenities (large pools, hot tubs, water slides, sauna, fitness center, casino, etc).  You also will get complimentary water in the room.

If you like to gamble though you will probably be a bit disappointed in the casino as it is quite small. We saw some ₩10,000 black jack tables, but most of the tables were baccarat. They also have roulette. In order to enter the casino, you must have your passport (only foreigners are allowed, Koreans cannot enter). So you’ll see a lot of Chinese tourists inside the casino.

I would definitely recommend eating food outside of the hotel though, since the prices for food and drinks is nuts (a margherita pizza is ₩32,000). There are lots of restaurants in the surrounding area. If you’re looking to go to Jeju and will be spending some time at the hotel and want to relax, I would recommend the Lotte Jeju Hotel.
