So as if flying in a Hello Kitty Plane around asia (EVA airlines) and sipping tea and coffee at the Hello Kitty Cafe in Seoul isn’t enough, now you can eat at the Hello Kitty Restaurant in Hong Kong!! This restaurant opened up right after my last trip to Hong Kong, so I was super excited to get the opportunity to try it out.
The cuteness was definitely worth it!
Hello Kitty Chinese Cuisine
Lee Loy Mansion 332-338 Canton Rd Yau Ma Tei, Hong Kong
(If you are taking the subway you can take either get off at the Jordan Station – use exit C2 or get off at the Austin Station – use exit B2)
It’s surprising to see that the restaurant is located on a quiet side street, it’s not on the main road. However, as soon as I saw Hello Kitty’s face in neon lights, I knew I was in there right place!
I arrived around 8 PM on a Tuesday night and was seated quickly. There weren’t a whole lot of people at the restaurant, but it was a weeknight. The place settings were absolutely adorable, I loved the white china and gold hello kitty design. It’s too cute! The menu is in Chinese, if you need an English menu just ask.
I decided I couldn’t go too crazy ordering, so I got the Glutinous Rice, Shrimp Dumplings and the BBQ Pork Buns. You can view the Chinese menu here:
The Glutinous Rice dish was uber cute and was quite tasty!
The Shrimp Dumplings were surprisingly large and also delicious.
The big disappointment was the BBQ Pork Buns. They were cold, not even warm, and there was barely any filling. The outside wasn’t the least bit flakey. Definitely avoid these if you go.
Overall the meal was pretty good. You should definitely be prepared to pay higher prices because of all the cuteness, but I didn’t think it wasn’t too ridiculous. Hello Kitty lovers definitely should make a trip next time they are in Hong Kong!
