The typical wing night or wing joint that we are super used to at home is not a common thing in Seoul. Wings in Korea are usually small and pricey, and if you happen to find someone serving Buffalo style wings, the sauce is usually not very good. So it was exciting to hear that a restaurant dedicated to this tasty finger food had opened up in Itaewon!

Nekkid wings is located in a small space right near the Itaewon Linus BBQ location. We had arrived for lunch and it wasn’t super busy at the time, but one of the owners Saeahm (Sam) was very friendly and was happy to introduce us to all the foods on the menu. He told us that he and his co-owners had wanted to open a restaurant that offered a wide variety of wing flavors, similar to places that we have back home in the States. YAY! You can view the full menu of they flavors here.
Scott and I ended up ordering a Double (which is recommended for 2 people) and includes 20 wings, 2 side dishes, 2 dips and celery and carrots for ₩31,000. We were happy to discover that you could mix up the flavors for the 20 wings, we tried 4 different flavors.
- Classic Buffalo – One of the things we always judge wings on is if they can get the classic buffalo flavor right. We were pleasantly surprised by the buffalo sauce, it was pretty on point.
- Smokehouse – They described this as a kind of BBQ sauce. It was definitely on the sweeter side and you could definitely taste pepper in it.
- Amazinger Xtra – The Amazinger is Nekkid’s signature sauce, but this one is kicked up a notch with a little heat. I could really taste the honey in the sauce, but honestly it wasn’t all that spicy, just a hint of heat.
- Parmesan Garlic – This sauce is basically as the title suggests, parmesan and garlic flavor. The sauce wasn’t overly garlicky (is that a word??), but I could taste a lot of herbs in it. Scott really liked this one.
Overall, the wings came out hot and fresh, the size was decent compared to some wings we’ve seen in Korea. Our wings came with a side of ranch and blue cheese. Scott and I both enjoyed the blue cheese (it was packed full of blue cheese flavor), but the ranch was on the bland side.
Now on to the sides, the fries reminded me of McDonald’s fries, they were just average. The side item we really liked was the giant onion ring! It was yummy and packed full of chopped up onions which are battered and fried. Get excited about the super crunchy exterior, chewy oniony interior and a yummy aioli for dipping!
As you can see we had quite the spread, so if you’re in the mood for wings, I would definitely recommend Nekkid. The prices are not the cheapest, but it’s awesome that they have so many flavors and the food is tasty and fresh!
